The Good, The Bad and the Beautiful

On February 4th I went to Flint, Michigan to present this "Every Drop Counts" project to the members of the Flint River Watershed Coalition. I was delighted by the new director's comment that it was so great to have one positive and beautiful presentation in their midst. We did talk about PFAS contamination in the groundwater and surface water AND we showed them the mosaic mural we are working on. The drops added just the right amount of sparkle that was needed that night.

The good news: There is still have time to get more of artists and friends to make a drop or two.

The other good news, We collected a page full of names and emails from people that want to be involved in the community mosaic, learn the basics of this art or just learn about "forever" chemicals polluting our ground, air and water.

The bad news (if it can be called that) is the building where this mosaic will be installed, is still under construction and now we have an early spring completion date. They are making great progress and, if I put my construction manager hard hat back on, I'd say they this is a realistic completion date. What does that mean for us? MORE DROPS!

Please sign up, we need nine

teen more people to commit to make a drop or two. You can be a part of this great project and get the template and instruction by sending me your mailing address and $10 via paypal: KatePepinArts@gmail.com or venmo @Kate-Pepin
